MOLLY, MY SUNSHINE

After I lost Molly, there was never any question of "memorializing" her, since she will remain solidly in the same place she always was; in my heart.  But just by chance I happened to see a sundial in a gardening catalog, on the face of which the manufacturer would inscribe anything you wanted.  Since I've always liked sundials anyway, I thought it would be a beautiful and peaceful way to remember her.  In the backyard of our house there was an old climbing rosebush, sprawling wildly in all directions, so I bought a garden arch and trained the roses up it.  I placed the sundial on the pedestal beneath it, and hung my windchimes right above.  The caption on the sundial reads:  "In memory of Molly -- count only the sunny hours".  It is a fitting tribute to her life, since she brought so much sunshine into mine.
